By the invitation of Prof. Dr. Gıyasettin Demirhan, President of 13th FIEP European Congress and 29th FIEP World Congress (26-29 September, 2018) in Istanbul, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Ming-kai Chin was invited as the opening keynote speaker to share with the international delegates with the topic entitled “Changes” in Physical Education with Linkage to Health: Practical Implementations from Local to Global”. During the congress, he had a very active and encouraging discussion with Dr. Uri Schaefer, President, International Council of Sport Sciences and Physical Education (ICSSPE) and agreed to develop a long term and sustainable co-operation between ICSSPE and BRICSCESS, APCESS and GCH, especially on the promotion of health and wellness through PE and exercise science.
By the invitation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Sacli Uzunoz, Director, School of Sports Science and Technology, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NHBVC), Prof. Chin, as the Founder of the 1st International Conference for the Physical Educators (ICPE) in 2000, was the invited speaker and International Adviser at the 5th International Conference of Physical Education and Sports Science (ICPESS 2018) on Dec 4-6, 2018 at the Congress & Convention Center of NHBVU in Cappadocia, Turkey. The theme of ICPESS 2018 is “New Direction of Physical Education and Health: From Theory to Implementation with Turkish and Global Perspective” . By exploring the adaption of an inter-disciplinary, theory to practice approach to create healthy schools and communities through a holistic model, the conference supports the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 17) for wellness of mankind through physical activity, health, physical education and sports science.
At ICPESS 2018, Prof. Chin and Prof. Hans de Ridder, Secretary General-Vice President of BRICSCESS & President of BRICSECESS 2019 promoted the joint conferences to be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 8 to 11 October 2019 with the theme “Holistic Health, Sports Science and Sustainability: The Way Forward”. For the first time, BRICSCESS 2019 will be jointly organized with South African Sports Medicine Association (SASMA) in conjunction with their SASMA 2019 Conference as well as the 1st World Congress of Future Leader/Volunteer (WCFLV 2019).
